The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Research Scientist 4 typically serves as a full member of a research team indicating major responsibilities for all phases of the research project. The incumbent has demonstrated ability to define problems, to perform the necessary research, to develop an appropriate plan of attack, to execute the research plan, to organize and evaluate the results, and to prepare acceptable reports of findings would be responsible for performing independent original research. Assignments typically require the incumbent to perform or to participate in all phases of the complete research process including problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of findings.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Min quals per class standard are bachelor’s and 5 years of relevant research experience, with master’s substituting for 1 year experience and Ph.D. substituting for an additional year of experience.
A minimum of three years of experience in a human subject research or human research protections program setting is preferred.
The selected candidate will serve as Research Administrator. Duties will include but are not limited to collaborating with the Director’s Office to develop and implement research activity oversight plans, coordinating and integrating research oversight activities facility-wide, and tracking and maintaining oversight records of research projects and protocols.
