Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in the Automotive Collision Repair Technology Program. The program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level Automotive Collision Repair positions in the automotive industry. The instructor will work primarily in classroom and indoor shop areas requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of the automotive equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies. The instructor must demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books, and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; knowledge of current in-field procedures; and follow approved course syllabus. The instructor will evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives within the program, complete all reports and records in a timely manner and maintain accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

Applicants must be motivated, organized, and able to work collegially in a professional environment. The selected candidate must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking. The selected candidate must also withstand a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with possible exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in a lab environment. You must be able to work with minimum supervision, effectively use oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

         Diploma in Auto Collision Repair or related field

         Current ASE Certification

         Related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

         Experience developing and teaching lessons individually and in classroom environments.

         Knowledge of online instruction and gradebooks

         More than five years related work experience

    DESCRIPTION:  

    Under general supervision, the ASN Simulation Lab Assistant will support the daily operations of the simulation lab and lab experiences of North Georgia Technical College ASN students on the Blairsville campus. As simulation lab assistant, the position will assist the Simulation Lab Coordinator in the installation, general maintenance, and general set-up and operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers, audio-visual equipment and computers used in the training of program students on the Blairsville campus.  The position will supervise, instruct, and assess students in the clinical setting, ensuring they develop the necessary patient-care skills and competencies. Home campus: Blairsville Campus, may be required to travel to other campus locations as needed.  Reports to ASN Program Director/Dean for Academic Affairs.

     

    MAJOR DUTIES:

    1.       Facilitate operation of simulation and skills lab         

    a.       Collaborate with the Simulation Lab Coordinator and ASN faculty to support simulation lab operations

    b.       Maintain laboratory equipment in good working order

    c.       Set up and breakdown lab equipment/supplies

    d.       Assist faculty and students during skills lab

    e.       Operate all manikins, A/V systems, computers, and simulators

    f.        Ensure that routine maintenance is completed on all equipment

    g.       Interface with technical support of equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting and repair of all equipment

    h.       Maintain supply rooms and communicates equipment and supply needs to Simulation Coordinator for purchase

    i.         Report equipment repair needs to the Simulation Lab Coordinator and facilitates repair process

    j.         Complete documentation related to simulation activities

    k.       Facilitate tours for recruiting faculty, prospective students, high school students

    l.         Follow policies and procedures for lab operations and simulation activities

    m.     Provide ongoing support to faculty during simulation operation

    n.       Collaborate with program faculty regarding course topics and simulation objectives

    o.       Direct, instruct, and evaluate students in the clinical setting

    p.       Other duties as assigned

     

    Minimum Qualifications

    ·         Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

    ·         Georgia RN license in good standing

    ·         Three years’ work experience as a registered nurse within the last five (5) years.

    Driver’s License Requirement: Valid GA Driver License

    Physical Demands:

    ·         Work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings.

    ·         The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

    ·         A full range of hand and finger motion is used for data entry.

     

    Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to peer groups or other training/conferences, to the other campuses, and to various other locations, may be required.

    Training Requirements:

    • Employee understands and agrees to complete all required trainings, to include those mandated by the State of Georgia Governor, by stated deadlines, as a condition of employment.
