Description

The ideal Training HAUS Sports Scientist-Physical Therapist candidate will excel in a multidisciplinary role performing the day-to-day operations of the Sports Science Lab within the Training HAUS, delivering exceptional patient care while performing evaluations, developing & administering treatment plans for athletes, and assisting in the leading of small group performance training sessions. This individual will utilize multiple technologies for the analysis of athletic movement patterns associated with increased risk of injury, while maintaining a sports medicine caseload.
Full-time role, variable depending upon facility needs out of our Training HAUS - Eagan.

Essential Functions:
Collect and perform biomechanical data collection protocols developed by the sports science team.
Analyze and report biomechanical data for individuals recovering from surgery at appropriate time points to provide recommendations on rehabilitation, sports performance and return to play decisions.
Communicate effectively, working in collaboration with physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and sports performance coaches to develop and implement exercise programs utilizing the latest in biomechanical technology to assess risk for injury.
Assist sports science team in the management and analytics of data for both clinical practice and research studies.
Provide programming and execution in leading individual, small group and larger group performance training sessions.
Routinely evaluate and treat outpatient conditions in consultation with physician.
Occasionally evaluate and treat outpatient conditions under direct access.
Effectively determine and apply a wide variety of therapeutic exercises, modalities, manual therapy, and other treatments in accordance with state practice act.
Apply lawful and ethical use of therapy services in daily treatments.
Document patient care services according to regulatory and department guidelines
Ability to work in fast-paced sports performance setting.
Foster community relationships relating to sports performance with partners who share in TCOs core values while maintaining current contracted relationships.
Promote TCO sponsored events in the community at health fairs and events.
Practice within the scope of Minnesota State rules/regulations.
Maintain safe work environment.
Occasionally participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
Any and all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program required, Doctorate and/or PhD preferred.
Graduate from an accredited Sports or Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency preferred.
Board Certified Sports or Orthopedic Specialist preferred.
Active Minnesota state license in Physical Therapy in the state in which practicing.
Strength and Conditioning certification preferred (CSCS, SCCC).
Experience in Biomechanics/Sports Science/Sports Performance environment preferred.
Experience and strong proficiency with biomechanical data collection and analysis, data analytics, and relevant software. Specifically, 3D motion capture, force plates, dynamometry, electromyography and coding software (MATLAB, PYTHON, R, etc.)

Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations

Understand and execute a variety of instructions
Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
Work independently with minimal supervision
Travel to other work locations, if required
