The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center has an outstanding opportunity for a PART-TIME CLINICAL PHARMACIST - INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE (50%, Rotating/Variable shifts). The Clinical Pharmacist (Pharmacist 3) will be responsible for the day-to-day activities  of the Integrative Medicine Program, with a focus on optimizing the use of dietary supplements and natural products for patients at the FHCC.  The Pharmacist will assist in the development and implementation of guidelines, patient/staff education, evaluation, and research of the appropriate use of dietary supplements and natural products. The Pharmacist 3 must have strong background in oncology pharmacy practice and clinical experience with dietary supplements to work with the Integrative Medicine program at the FHCC.

Strong candidates will have a minimum 2 years of clinical experience with assessing the safety and appropriate use of dietary supplements in the clinical setting, with preferred experience in the clinical oncology setting.  Working knowledge of and experience with appropriate dietary supplement-drug interaction and quality databases is a plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the Integrative Medicine program team to define and implement institutional guidelines for appropriate use of dietary supplements and natural products.
• Work with the Dietary Supplement Working Group, a collaboration between Integrative Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nutrition, to update and maintain the institutional clinical practice guidelines on the appropriate use of dietary supplement use outpatient oncology clinics.
• Implement quality improvement interventions related to the appropriate use of dietary supplements and natural products.
•  Evaluate trends of dietary supplements and natural products throughout the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and UW Medical Center. Review and provide feedback to providers on dietary supplement and natural product use
• Participate in DUE and organizational process improvement projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of experience in pharmacy practice.  Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacist license.

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC, formerly Seattle Cancer Care Alliance), Oncology Pharmacist team provides extensive pharmaceutical care to inpatient and ambulatory patients.
