About the role
This role strives to lead, develop, implement, and coordinate effective Health, Safety, and Environment EHS programs that align with local, regional, and global standards.
This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of critical EHS programs for the assigned site(s). Additionally, this role will provide leadership, mentorship, and support in various EHS program areas, ensuring their effective integration into the overall Health, Safety, and Environment Management System at the site.
What you’ll do
Serving as the subject matter authority for assigned EHS programs, which include (but are not limited to) Project/Construction Management, High-Level Risk Assessments, Permit to Work system (for high-risk work activities), Proficiency Verification, Training and other OSHA-required safety programs.
Leading the EHS audit process to ensure continuous learning and compliance with program requirements.
Providing leadership, direction, and program management for EHS focus areas, such as employee and contractor safety, customer SOPs, EHS Training and Competency Verification. This involves interpreting regulations and internal customer requirements, understanding the standard processes, and developing strategies for practical solutions.
Collecting and validating performance data and preparing and submitting reports through the customer Data Management System in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations, including the management of regulatory permits and related submissions.
Lead employee and contractor safety. Ensure compliance with site procedures, and relevant training and proficiency programs.
Support and conduct proactive risk assessments of work areas, activities, and construction projects, and new processes to identify and mitigate health, safety, and environmental EHS hazards and risks. Collaborate with team members to implement control measures that reduce or eliminate risks associated with tasks.
Ensure that robust systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance with all relevant customer EHS Management System guidelines, handbooks, Global Operating Procedures, and applicable EHS regulations, permits, statutes, local ordinances, and other external requirements.
Lead and participate in root cause investigations related to incidents, near misses, and good catches occurring at the site and supported satellite sites.
Partner with customers to address EHS issues and develop solutions.
What you’ll need
10+ years of relevant experience leading Health, Safety, and Environment programs, preferably with 5+ years of that experience at a leadership level. Experience with laboratory safety and biosafety a plus.

#GWSFMSCBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $125,000 to $145,000 annual base salary plus 15% target bonus based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
