Job Description

 
Cooking in a "bar and grill" restaurant. Using a variety of utensils and appliances the cook shall prepare, reheat, and cook food and/or condiments "to order" in a standard "sit-down"
restaurant. The cook shall follow recipes as designated by the president/owner of the business. The cook is tasked with accepting, opening, and inspecting food deliveries, cleaning
veggies and meats, contacting the owner if there is any problem, transferring food to clean containers, breaking down food with utensils (ex. knives and scissors) into "ingredients" and then
using the ingredients to prepare recipes, tasting food and condiments, plating, and informing the servers that the food is ready for pick up. The cook shall also keep an inventory of the
kitchen, including cooking utensils, pans, cutting boards, etc., and report directly to the owner. The cooks will use gas grills, woks, and fryers in the preparation of food. The cook shall
handle raw ingredients. The cook must follow all federal and state safety laws while working.
