Clinical Manager 

Ambulatory Services 

Full-Time

 

Overview: 

 

Reporting to the Director of Operations/Regional Director, the Clinical Manager is responsible and accountable for the clinical functions of the assigned outpatient locations. The Clinical Manager directly supervises the clinical support staff (RNs, LPNs, MAs and PCAs), including hiring, on-boarding, scheduling, and performance management. Outpatient clinical responsibilities include setting of goals and objectives in accordance with the HSS strategic initiatives, as well as planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring clinical activities. The Clinical Manager understands the Magnet Program, culture, and nursing principles. They support nursing excellence and the integration of Magnet standards into the nursing and organizational infrastructure. 

 

The Manager plays a pivotal role in championing a culture of belonging and excellence, which is crucial in upholding operational excellence and embodying the principles of a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Through prioritizing safety, quality, and adaptability, the Manager plays a significant role in fostering an environment where exemplary patient-centered care and a robust sense of interprofessional teamwork take precedence. Additionally, the role supports alignment amongst leadership and frontline staff, ensuring optimal patient flow, safety, and a cohesive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and heard. Through proactive resource management and a steadfast commitment to enhancing patient outcomes, the Clinical Manager actively fosters a supportive healthcare team. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Alignment: Ability to develop and align department or workgroup goals with the hospital’s strategic plan.
  • Innovation: Challenges existing ideas and develops and champions new ones that add value to the organization. Change Facilitator. 
  • Fiscal Management: Allocates resources in a cost-effective manner. Applies cost management strategies to clinical supply ordering and management. Collaborates with Director to develop and monitor operating budget.
  • Service Excellence: Sets and maintains the highest level of service to patients, family members, visitors, physicians, and other Hospital departments.
  • Corporate Compliance: Ensures departmental or workgroup compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and standards, including the Code of Conduct and the Standards of Care. Ensures completion of all evaluations and mandatory in-services on time, and for all staff that fall within scope of responsibility.
  • Commitment to Quality & Continuous Performance Improvement: Implements best practice standards and re-designs processes and systems to contribute to the best possible care and service for our patients.
  • Critical Thinking: Analyzes problems, issues, and opportunities. Systematically and logically makes decisions that support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization.
  • Project Management: Develops and implements projects using a systematic approach to translate work plans into actionable components and measurable outcomes.
  • Prioritizing & Delegating: Routinely assesses priorities and competing demands, adjusts allocation of time and resources, and delegates appropriately to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Talent Identification: Attracts and selects outstanding staff from diverse backgrounds to meet organizational needs.
  • Employee Engagement: Utilizes all aspects of the performance management cycle (defining expectations, setting goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, corrective action) to help develop and sustain a working environment conducive to the highest levels of employee engagement.
  • Team Leadership: Provides guidance, mentorship, professional development, and direction to staff to create and promote a team-centered approach to facilitate the achievement of the department or workgroup goals.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Routinely provides others with the information they need to do their work by communicating openly, honestly and in a timely manner. Ability to collaborate with all departments in the organization to improve workflows and patient care and outcomes. 
  • Positive Role Model: Inspires enthusiasm and commitment to excellence within department or workgroup by consistently demonstrating behaviors that reflect the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct. Dynamic personality and able to engage with the staff at all levels. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • BSN required; Master’s degree preferred or currently enrolled.
  • Current RN License & Registration applicable state of employment.
  • Certification of specialty recognized by ANCC (i.e., NE-BC, AMB-BC, or ONC). 
  • BLS certification required. 

Experience 

  • At least 3 years previous experience as a nurse with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience with Epic to support operational and clinical activities strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills – oral, written and presentation coupled with the ability to mentor, mobilize and work collaboratively within high-functioning teams.
  • Knowledge of Magnet environment and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $140,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $165,000.00/Yr.
