Job Summary
Teach in the core curriculum and one or more of the following concentrations: outdoor recreation and leadership or recreation therapy. Applicants must be able to lead and supervise field experiences, advise students, and maintain an active role in scholarship and service to the profession and university community.

Applicants are expected to teach in the core curriculum and one or more of the following concentrations: outdoor recreation and leadership or recreation therapy. Applicants must be able to lead and supervise field experiences, advise students, and maintain an active role in scholarship and service to the profession and university community. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and at least one degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism (or related field) required. Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration, experience with diverse populations, and earned doctorate preferred, ABD considered.

Ideal candidates will provide evidence of commitment to scholarship, exceptional teaching, and professional experience. Review of applications will begin April 5, 2024. The expected start date is August 10, 2024. These positions will remain open until filled.

Dozens of biking, hiking, and water trails are accessible within a short drive, including access points to the Appalachian Trail, George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, and the New River Trail.

Several metropolitan areas can be reached within a few hours by car, bus, or train from Radford, including:

· Richmond, VA (3-3 ½ hours)

· Washington, D.C. (4-5 hours)

· Nashville, TN (6-6 ½ hours)

A regional airport provides non-stop flight services to many cities on the East coast, including New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Atlanta, and others.

Education
