Fairview Range is hiring an Admitting Clerk for our Admitting department in Hibbing, MN .

As an admitting clerk, your role will be pivotal in delivering outstanding patient experiences. As an integral part of the Admitting team, you will register non-scheduled patients, activate pre-registered patients, and accurately collect and record crucial information to complete the access process. As an admitting clerk, you will be responsible for:

  • Appropriately and accurately collecting and entering required information for all access patients.

  • Fully knowledgeable of, and conducts all activities in accordance with Regulatory Compliance, including but not limited to such issues as Medicare Secondary Payer Screening, EMTALA, 3-Day DRG Bundling, Medical Necessity; and internal Code of Conduct requirements.

  • Fully knowledgeable of, and conducts all activities in accordance with confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

  • Functioning as a relief communications operator. Understands all alarms and codes.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Must be proficient in computer use.

  • Good interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Well organized, detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clerical experience and prior knowledge of health insurance processing

  • Post-secondary education: AA or AS with medical terminology education

  • AAHAM CPAT/CCAT and/or NAHAM certification
