General Description | This is a student position responsible for driving a university vehicle to off-campus locations. Responsible for transporting individuals and/or materials as assigned. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |
Job Duties | 1. Operates university vehicle to/from off-campus locations as instructed. 2. Transports individual and/or materials as assigned. 3. Responsible for the safety of passengers and university vehicles. 4. Abides by all state and federal laws concerning over-the-road vehicles. 5. Maintains mileage log. 6. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | |
Required Qualifications | The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University. No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided. |
Preferred Qualifications | Van drivers for lab classes: MUST BE ENROLLED IN THE CLASS FOR WHICH YOU WILL BE DRIVING…FORESTRY, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, GEOSPATIAL SCIENCE, GEOGRAPHY STUDENTS ONLY!!! SFA Driving Permit and Van Certification required. |
Physical Demands | Needs to be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must have (or be able to obtain) a University Driving Permit. |
Special Conditions for Eligibility | A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester. Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant. |
