PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To design, implement, and maintain all aspects of data processing and network communications. This includes, but not limited to, database servers, web servers, Local Area Networks, PCs, engineering software systems, and accounting software systems. To ensure the integrity and security of all electronically maintained data as well as protect against electronic intrusion.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Requires two year degree from vocational/technical school in computer operation, programming or equivalent. Requires a minimum of two years’ experience in computer networking and a minimum of one year’s experience in relational database technology. The following requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or other employees. Requires demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and program development tools and knowledge of fundamental Internet Technology, e.g. TCP/IP and HTML. Knowledge of PBX telephone systems preferred. Requires excellent decision-making skills and the technical aptitude to learn new software and hardware applications. Requires interpersonal skills to effectively communicate problems and solutions.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
General office environment; requires flexibility to work overtime as deemed necessary; requires ability to work during emergency situations and to travel to District facility. Requires the physical ability in reaching, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, and hearing and requires visual acuity in machine operation(s). Requires the ability to successfully pass Rayle EMC's employment entrance examination and drug screen. Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including listening, verbal communications, ability to provide feedback, ability to manage personal time and ability to control anger in dealing with members and co-workers. Must be able to perform job functions in cooperation with Supervisor, co-workers, members and public. Must perform in a consistent, even tempered manner in handling confrontational situations with members and co-workers. Must be able to exercise personal control and apply prescribed safety/loss control procedures when involved in an emergency situation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Two-way communication with immediate supervisor to receive direction, approvals, and instruction, to provide status of work assignments/duties; with other departments to provide assistance and information concerning the aspects of the data processing function.
External: Two-way communication with hardware/software vendors and contract personnel. Demonstrates an awareness that the job exists to effectively serve each and every member, and at every opportunity to achieve member and public support for the Cooperative.
