We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer I to join our Clearing Markets Treasury Engineering team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA, and will work a Hybrid schedule (3 days per week in-office required).  Candidate must reside within a commutable distance to this work location, as we are unable to accommodate 100% virtual work arrangements.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation
Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data
The job holder leads the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems
Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems
Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation
Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code
Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions
Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain)
Actively participate in code reviews
Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
Apply security and privacy principles
Execute full lifecycle software development
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
Ensure software is updated with latest features
Participate in deployment process following all change controls
Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
Use learning tools to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans
Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse
Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to
Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions
Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
5-7 years of experience in software development required
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
Familiarity with SWIFT Network and messaging
Ability to work in a group with other developers to accomplish a common goal
Develop new functionality and enhancements to established services
Perform upkeep of existing systems (resolve risks or vulnerabilities, upgrade software, and close technical debt)
Integrate with Code Quality tools (Veracode, SonarQube,...)
Actively participate in code reviews (as both the reviewer and reviewee)
Integrate new software components into a fully functional software system
Interact with users to review requirements and solutions during the development lifecycle
Troubleshoot and debug potential issues
Continue to learn through a combination of virtual training and on-the-job experience
The following combined technical skills are highly desired for this role:
Core technology: Java, Angular, Spring, Spring Boot
Secondary: HTML, JSON, XML, JavaScript, NodeJS, CSS, Python, Ionic (mobile development)
Additional: Oracle, Vertica, ElasticSearch, Kafka, IBM MQ
Well-versed in scrum and agile methodologies
Knowledgeable with GitLab, Docker, CI/CD pipeline, container deployments, JIRA
