Job Description
Tonawanda. IMA Life. Mechanical Designer. $51,000 - $64,000/year.
PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Designer, and/or mechanical engineers to create and modify part and assembly models in 2D and 3D and generate and modify 2D drawings based on these models.
2. Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies.
3. Reviews drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability, and adherence to internal design/drafting standards.
4. Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of internal design/drafting standards.
5. Ensures that designs are consistent with internal standards, project technical requirements and scope.
6. Checks assigned drawings supplied by vendors, clients and other discipline groups throughout the project to ensure quality designs.
7. Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned design tasks.
8. Conforms to company core values.
9. Ability to comprehend, understand design concepts for large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and like applications.
10. As key member of Project Team may be required to interact with customers and various internal/external personnel.
11. Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility.
12. Consistently observe and promote SHEQ site requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Associates degree in Drafting & Design Technology, Engineering Graphics or Engineering Technology.
2. Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in mechanical design.
3. Well organized with ability to schedule own workload.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Overtime as needed.
2.Travel as needed, national and international.
