UW Medicine Primary Care - Mountlake Terrace has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant  - Certified.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Part-time, 75% FTE (30 hours per week)
  • 3 x 10's, weekdays 9:45am-8:15pm and one weekend day 7:45am-6:15pm

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    Conveniently located just off I-5, UW Medicine Primary & Urgent Care at Mountlake Terrace offers comprehensive primary care for the entire family. Services range from preventive medicine to treatment of chronic disease and acute illness to on-site lab and digital X-ray facilities. Our board-certified providers specialize in wellness medicine, women's health, family planning, and newborn and children's health.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
  • Perform injections
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms
  • Submit medication prior authorizations
  • Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
  • Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers 
  • Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
  • Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
  • Assist in transporting patients as required

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board  OR equivalent
  • Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
