The Team Lead (TL) functions as the primary expert for the Epic application and oversees the work activities of the build team. Working in conjunction with the Epic Application Manager and/or Epic Application Director, the TL defines build objectives and manages configuration, build and installation of the application. The Team Lead (TL) will report to the Epic Application Manager and/or Epic Application Director and will be responsible for planning, structuring, and monitoring system implementation, as well as testing and change control procedures. The TL takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Epic Application Manager and/or Epic Application Director on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues. The TL will serve as the primary support contact for their respective application as well as serve as a point of contact for various other applications within their assigned team. The TL will serve as a leader with overall responsibility for software analysis and design, application and system installation and implementation. Provides best solutions to identified needs, meeting operational and business objectives and technology capabilities, and human resource requirements. Maintains the ongoing service relationships between the IS department and its direct application customers, and is a liaison to other departments and entities. They will coordinate all issues that arise during the application implementation for their respective team and must be very knowledgeable of the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations. Applications will be one of the following: Ambulatory, Home Heath/Hospice, ASAP, Beacon, Beaker, Phoenix, Research, Radiant, Cupid, WIllow, Clin Doc, Op-Time, Orders, Stork, Bugsy, Anesthesia, Security SER,HIM, PB, HB, HBB, Cadence, Prelude, Nursing Applications, Physician Applications, Revenue Cycle Applications, Administrative Applications, Ancillary Applications.

Job Description:

1. Defines, documents, builds and maintains EHR application content. (essential)

2. Creates functional specification documents to create content within the EHR application and is primarily responsible for validating this content with the business owner. (essential)

3. Leads IT projects, including planning, obtaining customer input and projecting resource requirements. Provides support to team members as well as serving as the initial point of contact for their assigned team (essential)

4. Identifies and resolves complex issues. This includes identification of appropriate parties and potential solutions with minimal guidance. (essential)

5. Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment. (essential)

6. Acts as a liaison between IT, customers and/or vendors. Ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings including all relevant documentation with all operational areas using the software application. (essential)

7. Prepares and maintains documentation, including analysis, design, programming, standard procedures and user guides. (essential)

8. Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department and/or customer. Provides on call / after hours support as required. (essential)

9. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership across all entities up to and including C Level interactions. (essential)

10. Mentors, guides and leads team members of all levels to facilitate career growth. Provides guidance, assistance, training and feedback as needed to team members. Assists in development of performance evaluations and performance improvement plans for team members. (essential)

Required Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. 5-8 years related work experience required.
3. Vendor required certification in good standing (or proficiency if vendor accepts) for applications/modules employee is assigned to support. If not currently certified (or proficient), employee will have 6 months from their Date of Hire or Date of Transfer into a position that requires certification (proficiency) to obtain such certification.
4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

5. Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

6. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.

7. Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.

8. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Social/Environmental Requirements:
1. Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.

2. Work is varied every day and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities.

3. No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions

4. Health Care Status: NHCW: No patient contact.- Health Care Worker Status may vary by department

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally
This job requires constant sitting, Keyboard use.
