General Summary:
Kindergarten paraprofessionals assist students with academic needs under the
direction of a certified teacher. The paraprofessional assists the teacher in
general daily classroom activities, helps with academics, runs small
groups and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety,
affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all
relationships
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• 2 year associates degree or 2 years of verifiable college course work
(48 semester hours) or the ability to successfully pass the WorkKeys
proficiency test
• Proven experience working with students
• Effective communication skills; oral, written, and visual with
adults and children
• Understanding of basic principles of early childhood development
