Full job description Allen-Bailey Tag & Label is a manufacturer of printed tags and labels for a wide variety of industries. The Flexo Printing Press Operator (Flexographic) is responsible for setting up and operating the printing press to produce tags, labels and related products. This position offers on-site training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade. Essential Functions: Sets up and operates presses requiring complex adjustments. Repairs, cleans and performs preventative maintenance on assigned presses. Removes product from the assigned presses and stacks as appropriate. Maintains production and time records, as required. Maintains high quality standards, as required. Troubleshoots problems when they occur. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three years related experience in Flexographic Printing is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Flexo Press Training and/or previous experience in related field is required. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as order specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to read a ruler. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and/or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
