Aerotek Welder in Cleveland, Ohio

Contract to Hire

1st shift

Welder/Fitter Duties: A Welder/Fitter is responsible for assisting the production team to ensure excellence in manufacturing, quality and production operations, with safety of associates being the highest priority. Some, but not all, of your expected tasks include;

  • Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.

  • Determines required equipment, welding method and welding techniques.

  • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

  • Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.

  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies.

  • Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.

  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

  • Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
