Sophomore Junior Senior Any Majors: STEM Majors Job Description: The
Women in STEM Program, a division of the College of EMS Student Success
Programs (SSP), is seeking student assistants to begin in Fall 2024.
Interviews will begin in May and be conducted as applications come in.
Student Assistants work in the Plexus Women in STEM Center
(Sesquicentennial Hall 250) which is a study and resource space designed
to support students\' academic success, with an emphasis on supporting
women. Our mission is to recruit and retain more women in
underrepresented STEM fields. Positions require approximately 6-10 hours
per week with additional hours the week of big events. The position
requires 5-6 desk hours, one-hour staff meeting and 1-2 committee
meetings per week. We strive to accommodate your academic schedule as
much as possible, recognizing that your studies come first. Pay rate is
\$11.00/hr and includes the potential of yearly pay raises based on
performance reviews. The Women in STEM Program is coordinated by
students under the guidance of Kim Sargent, with assistance from
Michelle Godez. As a student assistant, you\'ll join committees focused
on programming for both pre-college and college students. You will have
the chance to eventually lead one of these committees. This role is an
outstanding opportunity to improve your leadership skills and learn
event planning and time management skills. Additionally, you will mentor
young girls and support fellow women pursuing STEM majors. After a year
with us, you can apply to become a lead student assistant, further
enhancing your leadership abilities. Benefits of working in the Women in

are seeking committee members for our college programming events, which
usually occur once a month or less. You won\'t be assigned to every
committee, but you will have the flexibility to select the ones that
