About the Job



Summary of Position
The Project Manager (PM) will support the Center for Learning Health System Sciences (CLHSS), primarily the Rapid Prospective Evaluation (RapidEval) program.
The project manager for RapidEval will be responsible for the management of associated research projects and program initiatives and will interface and coordinate work with IT, clinical, and academic stakeholders. The PM will report to the Research Operations Director and work closely with the program leadership team and staff from project intake, to set priorities for portfolio management, establish work plans, assess risk and build contingency plans, and resolve issues.
This position receives minimal guidance and requires the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have strong technical, organization, project management, and communication (written and oral) skills to guide two multi-disciplinary teams and ensure deliverables are timely and meet requirements. This position also requires a high tolerance for ambiguity to research and develop solutions to undefined research topics. Duties/Responsibilities
60%: Rapid Prospective Evaluation Program
Strategize, develop and implement individual clinical research project plans including design, conduct, performance, monitoring, recording, analysis and reporting for each proposal selected in the bi-annual Call for Proposals (CFPs)
Assist investigators in the development of proposals towards rapid eval guidelines; track proposals in development
Effectively manage interest holder expectations and resource requirements to ensure ownership and success
Publish CFPs broadly across the University and M Health Fairview system
Coordinate resources provided by CTSI (e.g., BPIC, BDAC)
Partner with the M Health Fairview Learning Health System Program Manager and other staff for implementation of research projects
Lead regular meetings with research teams to establish priorities, check progress, identify and resolve issues including distribution of updates and ensuring next steps are complete
30%: Ad hoc Grant Project Manager
Provide project management support on sponsored projects, as assigned.
10%: CLHSS Operational Management
Support CLHSS service request process
Identify/track key measures of success for assigned program
Serve as a resource for CLHSS programs in project management planning and best practices
Other tasks as assigned
Work Arrangements
This position follows UMN Work. With Flexibility. guidelines. Currently, the position will be primarily working from home. There may be occasional needs to be on campus and over time there may be a need to set a regular schedule for a few days on campus each week. Work hours should follow a regular schedule between 7-5, M-F.

Salary range: $70-78K

Qualifications



Required Qualifications
BA/BS in a STEM field with at least 5 years of experience, or advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a combination of related education and work experience equal to nine years.
Strong analytical skills with established organization and project management strategies to keep track of details in the context of the larger objectives and manage multiple responsibilities and projects
Ability to work independently, as a part of a team, and with changing priorities
Demonstrated ability to lead projects, set and maintain deadlines, prioritize assignments, proactively problem-solve
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Experience with clinical and/or translational research
Experience with regulatory aspects (e.g. IRB and FDA) of conducting clinical research
University of Minnesota experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team
Healthcare experience or experience working in a healthcare system
Experience working on federally funded projects
Master's degree or project management certification
Proactive, self-starting work ethic

The Center for Learning Health System Sciences is a one-of-a-kind partnership between the Medical School and School of Public Health with a goal to decrease the time it takes for science to make it from the lab to the clinic in pursuit of better health outcomes for the patients we serve.
