Job Description
Southeastern Community College Center for Business (CBIZ) is seeking Instructor(s) for a part-time instructor position with our General Interest Classes. Special interest currently in gaming, wood-working, cooking/culinary, home brewing, crafting, history and holiday-themed projects. 

Job Summary:

Summary:  Southeastern Community College Continuing Education is currently seeking part-time learning facilitators for our General Interest classes, which are our non-credit, life-long learning classes that are available to all interested community members and professionals. Class offerings are located at our Burlington, Mt. Pleasant, Keokuk and Fort Madison locations. Workshops and classes are scheduled on weekdays and weekends during the daytime and evening hours and may run for several weeks. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES SUMMARY:

·         Commitment to Southeastern Community College’s mission, vision, values and goals.
·         Consistently attend scheduled classes.
·         Great and welcome participants.
·         Under limited supervision, the Learning Facilitator is responsible for teaching in their area of
          expertise and ensuring all students meet the objectives of the course. 
·         Provide exemplary customer service through positive class interaction, meeting the
          participant needs, maintaining a clean, neat, and inviting learning experience while having a
          positive and upbeat attitude. 
·         Effectively communicate with participants and Continuing Education staff.
·         Clean and straighten classroom before and after each class.
·          Complete all required paperwork by Continuing Education staff. 
·         Travel required with ability to work evenings and weekends. 
·         Perform other work duties as assigned. 

Adjunct teaching contracts are subject to cancellation due to low student enrollment.

Required Qualifications
·         Must have a high school diploma or GED
·         Must be able to pass a background check
·         Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
·         Personify a professional attitude and commitment to exceeding expectation and have
          superior communication skills: written and verbal.
·         Be passionate about life-long learning. 
·         Must comply with all safety rules and regulations and make safety a priority.
·         Possess patience and awareness of cultural diversity. 
·         Willingness to work with students in a group setting and independently with classroom and
          practical hands-on skills training. 
·         Deal responsible and effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgement when
          making decisions. 
·         Must be willing to do required paperwork, attendance, progress reports, and any necessary
          documentation as required. 
 


Minimum qualifications vary based on subject area. We are looking for instructors that have a career or hobby that they are willing to teach to a class.  Special interest currently with gaming, wood-working, cooking/culinary, home brewing, crafting, history and holiday-themed projects.



Preferred Qualifications
· Teaching experience preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience.

· Experience in curriculum development desired.

Physical Demands
Ability to carry and distribute class materials and ability to rearrange classroom as needed.
