About the team

As a sales team we are at the forefront of building our customer experiences. We introduce the customer to our products and work hard to find solutions that help them get off the phone and back to the work they are passionate about. A key component of this is a detailed understanding of how we show up in the market and where we are competitively placed to win. This role will focus on a high impact strategic review to provide an economic and competitive analysis of our market position and emerging market opportunities. This report will focus on internal and external data to assess customers' needs, and competitor approaches in solving those needs in a comparative review to our current business approach to further our understanding of serving our customers. We’re looking for a candidate who is curious and tenacious to find critical answers to grow our business. In some cases you will be supporting on-going research projects, and in others you will be given a project to lead with guidance from the Sales Program Manager.

Please note that we are a hybrid team, and the candidate is expected to be in the downtown Toronto office 2 to 3 times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Sales Program Manager to provide any support required, while also working with cross-functional teams
  • Assist with creating research reports
  • Meet with stakeholders in sales ops, analytics, sales, marketing and strategy to gain a better understanding of serving our customers
  • Desk research to provide in-depth understanding of sales processes, market conditions, and opportunities
  • Present findings to stakeholders and in team meetings with the larger Sales organization for QuickBooks Canada

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or postgraduate program in a related field and be able to work full-time for 8 months, starting May.
  • Highly detail oriented and pays close attention to the specifics of problems, questions and projects.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills; great attitude and go-getter spirit.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical experience, with the ability to develop and understand strategy.
  • Passion for storytelling with data to inform decisions.
  • Knowledge of research methodology, techniques and analysis is an asset.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and relevant software applications is an asset.
  • Applied experience writing queries, scripts and stored procedures (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an asset.
  • Ability to ask for help when needed, while taking steps to problem solve independently.

When it gets right down to it - we are looking for someone “super-smart” and “super-keen”.
