Position Details | The Resource Center (RC) is Wesleyan University’s multi-cultural center, and has a mission to support, empower, and engage students with underrepresented and marginalized identities. By collaborating with students to promote social justice programming, community development, and intersectional education and awareness initiatives on campus, The RC strives to provide a safe and inclusive environment for students from all identities, backgrounds, and experiences to connect, learn, organize, and lead. The RC’s main areas of focus are race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and disability. Reporting to the Director of The Resource Center, the Assistant Director implements programming that creates and sustains an inclusive and supportive campus climate. In addition to supporting the programs and initiatives of The RC, the Assistant Director plays a role in providing support and guidance to student affinity groups, particularly around heritage month activities. The Assistant Director will also support our First Things First (FTF) program, which centers first-generation and limited-income students, and is one of our Pathways to Inclusive Education (PIE) programs.
