The Public Relations Strategist is charged with implementing the bank's PR strategy across all regions to strengthen brand recognition, position thought leaders, and drive business growth. Under the direction of the Corporate Communications and PR Manager, the incumbent will assist with the development and review of the bank's PR strategy and will partner with Marketing team members to ensure that PR efforts are engaging, strategic, shareable, and consistent with our brand and business objectives. This role will collaborate with business partners from around the bank to create original content to support the PR strategy and the bank's business goals.
Essential Functions:
Leads the development of all PR events, opportunities, and content.
Manages the public relations calendar to ensure a consistent PR presence and coverage across all regions.
Develops and maintains the bank's social media channel strategy including the social media portion of the editorial calendar.
Maintains all social media sites, creating and maintaining a relevant presence and voice, actively engaging with users.
Monitors social media traffic using analytics, making content adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes data, prepares monthly reporting, and makes appropriate recommendations based on metrics.
Prepares press releases for local and regional media.
Actively uses the bank's reputation management software to proactively identify public relations opportunities and industry trends.
Supports crisis communications activities and takes an active role in incident response scenarios.
Develops and maintains relationships with local and regional media contacts.
Assists with/conducts the writing, editing, and proofing of content for a variety of platforms and channels including social media, digital channels, ad copy, customer letters, corporate communications e-mails, press releases, live event assets, promotional collateral, video and more.
Ensures all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search engines and user experience for all channels including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video and all traditional marketing communications delivery channels.
Supports the development and review of the bank's public relations strategy for all content, across all content channels, and timelines for when content will be published.
Partners with the Marketing Team on content planning based on content analytics, ROI, and evolving metrics, to drive high content value and efficient customer/audience acquisition and retention.
Conducts research to produce on-target copy. Remain relevant in an ever-changing communications environment.
Collaborates with various departments to ensure content is accurate.
Researches and implements best practices, both human and technological, for content creation, distribution, media coverage and industry trends.
Conducts periodic competitive audits and leverages market data to develop content.
Ensures all content is compliant and satisfies regulation requirements.
Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
College degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
2 to 4 years of experience in the public relations field.
Experience in developing corporate PR content strategies.
High degree of PC based technical skill, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products. Knowledge of Clients and Profits software a plus.
Must be a subject matter expert of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style with proven editorial skills and an outstanding command of the English language.
Demonstrated experience developing a resource or library of content.
Ability to work on several projects at once, sometimes under pressure, and often under tight deadlines.
Skilled at both long-form content creation and real-time (immediate) content creation.
Ability to understand what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
Compensation: $62,699 - $94,102
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
