The Opportunity

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of STRUCTURAL HEART disease.  We aim to lead the markets we serve by requiring the solutions we offer customers provide an improved benefit/risk profile as compared to existing standards of care; a performance threshold that by definition, guides and ensures the productive output of our engineering, business development, and clinical research efforts result in outcomes that advance the standard of care. 

What You’ll Work On

  • The Product Manager is a driver of the success for the TAVI product line in the Structural Heart business unit. This position will work closely with the sales team and be responsible for aspects of US strategy implementation plus Forecasting, Financial and Marketing Plan Development, Sales Materials and Training, Pricing, and Materials Management.
  • Maintain US product expertise including market sizes and trend share, customer needs and targeting, product performance, benefits/weaknesses, and positioning.
  • Provide on-going field support and will focus on growing market share for Abbott’s TAVI products, including launching new products.
  • Success will be measured against sales and margin expectations, sales force competency/knowledge level and development of marketing programs which enhance field and customer experience.
  • Maintain worldwide market expertise, including in-depth knowledge of US competitor products and strategies, market trends and dynamics, market/franchise critical success factors, and customer needs.
  • Develop strategies to address product performance issues.
  • Update annual marketing plans/strategies including market analysis, customer segmentation and targeting, product positioning, competitive assessments, and SWOT situation assessment.
  • Support launch readiness by developing product inventory timing, marketing programs, and working with communications manager to develop promotional collateral.
  • Take a leadership role on project teams to work closely with the project manager to drive accountability and team achievement of goals and milestones.
  • Manage creative agencies to plan, develop, and execute new US materials.
  • Partner with regulatory colleagues in the review and negotiation of materials to ensure competitiveness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Will have marketing and budget responsibility for designated products.
  • Drive to deliver Sales, Margin, and key performance metrics for the TAVI business.
  • Will be expected to be responsive and able to directly address questions and requests of senior management.


Required Qualifications
•    Prior marketing experience within medical device or healthcare industry.
•    Bachelors’ Degree with 4+ years related marketing or product management experience. MBA with 1+ years of related experience also considered.
•    Ability to travel 30-40% of the time.
•    Substantial financial skills, market analysis and advanced communication skills.
•    Knowledge/ability to develop and execute a new product launch.
•    Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Able to understand technical and scientific information.
•    Willing to understand and comply with Regulatory requirements.
•    Able to influence and motivate individuals from sales, marketing, and other functional areas to drive product sales.
•    Ability to complete multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.

The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
