We are looking for passionate and articulate technologists, who love jumping in to solve novel problems, and enjoy working with talented interdisciplinary teams. The core responsibilities of this role requires a background in either real time audio algorithm design, tuning/integration, and experience with acoustic systems or other hands on experience across the audio stack.
Software Engineering Manager, Audio Responsibilities
  • Manage audio software engineers and help them develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional hardware and software engineering teams. Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams
  • Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees
  • Drive development initiatives that combine DSP and ML audio processing
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience managing and recruiting technical teams, including performance management
  • 8+ years experience in software development with C/C++
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience developing, coaching, and managing engineers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in embedded audio software development
  • Experience in digital signal processing
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and deep learning models
  • Experience developing audio solutions in Python or Matlab
  • Knowledge in audio capture or render algorithms for consumer devices

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
