Job Description: |
The primary role of the Pressroom Helper is to aid the Press Operator in the operation of the press to ensure acceptable quality at maximum productivity. The helper will ensure all product specifications are met, ensure paper is loaded, perform preventive maintenance on the press and accurately record production data on job tickets, load slips etc.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure paper is loaded, and all plates, stock, ink, and proofs for the next job are at the press before previous job is completed • Empty waste ink, chemical containers, and soiled rag containers daily • Monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution on presses • Ensure skids are properly marked for next operation prior to leaving the pressroom • Ensure work produced exceeds quality guidelines • Accurately record production data on job tickets, load slips etc. • Work with Press Operator to ensure preventive maintenance is performed each week
