Customer Solutions Engineer, gTech

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical subject, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP), and experience with database querying and optimization
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python)
  • Experience working with and managing external partners/customers

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or MBA degree
  • Customer facing experience in sales, sales engineering, consulting, or related function
  • Experience in online advertising industry
  • Great communication skills, ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience, and comfort presenting technical materials to groups of any size and background
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent project management skills and attention to detail

The Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) team is part of gTech Professional Services in Ads. Our mission is to partner with sales on strategic customers, big bets, and large opportunities to drive growth in Ads’ business through creation of technical solutions.

We’re responsible for developing innovative solutions to the business problems faced by advertisers. We work as a critical technical partner for our sales teams where coding abilities, communication skills, desire to solve complex problems, passion for scale and big data, and business acumen will all be leveraged. Solutions will take many forms, from prototypes and demos to education and advocacy, all with the technology resources of Google to back it up.

As a Customer Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing your projects. You will see the unique business challenges faced by our advertisers, and you will be given the opportunity to develop solutions. Working across the entire organization, you will have the chance to leverage wide-ranging experience and skill set to find the best solution for problems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our sales team. Identify, develop, and optimize the new business opportunities, and develop client relationships by leveraging Google products and technologies.
  • Develop solutions as the technical lead and provide consulting services to our partners. Build lasting relationships and be sensitive to clients’ needs.
  • Propose, design, create, and present prototypes, demos, and proofs-of-concept to a wide variety of audiences, from engineers to marketing professionals.
  • Support our customers by delivering deep technical value to their online, digital initiatives.
  • Travel as required to meet with specific partners/clients in the region.
