Because at Solventum, we never stop solving for you.The Impact You'll Make in this RoleAs a Material Continuity Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Working alongside our purchasing team to identify, evaluate, and qualify second sources of supply for key materials used in Solventum medical / combination devices and drug products.Collaborating with the Solventum research & development organization to reformulate or redesign input materials where needed to enhance performance or quality characteristics.Pursuing united goals with cross-functional global teams composed of members from manufacturing, regulatory, application engineering, business, clinical, and multiple other functions.Visiting and forming great working relationships with identified third party manufacturing locations to facilitate qualifications.Controlling and managing the dissemination of confidential information with third parties on a need-to-know basis by implementing confidentiality agreements and through careful communication.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND (3) three years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environmentORHigh School Diploma/GED from AND (7) years of experience developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environmentANDIn addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:Three (3) years of product and/or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry and/or medical device Quality Management Systems (QMS)Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Competencies in one or more of the following areas:Solution/hot melt coating technologies. Experience on coating various materials onto substrates/backings (i.e. adhesive onto a silicone coated liner)Film extrusion and / or lamination of multiple substratesProduct and/or process liners of many types, including film and paper based linerProduction of materials in chemical reactor vessels such as polymers or fine chemicalsMolded partsNonwoven materialsKnowledge of change management, familiarity with qualification procedures (process validation, design verification), and competency in creative problem solving.Demonstrated use of project management techniques to lead cross functional teams in projects that drive improvement and results.Experience collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions.Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Lean Six Sigma, etc.]Experience in advanced agile processes (e.g., scrum master, product owner, etc.)Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) and systems proficiency.Work location: HybridTravel: May include up to [25%][domestic/ international]Relocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-beingSolventum offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially.
