General Summary of Duties:
Working for electrical contractor in assisting in planning, lay-out, and installation, testing, and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by supervision. Position will report to manager as assigned by Stone & Sons General Superintendent. Essential Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as required): - Assist electrician in laying out work. Learn to perform lay-out independently. - Learn to read and understand plans and specifications, including one-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, ladder diagrams, and loop diagrams. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions. - Follow established jobsite safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. - Load, transport, unload, and furnish electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. - Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary; assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation; may perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities of journeymans tools and equipment. - Learn to use appropriate hand and power tools to assist electrician in performing his/her duties, including, but not limited to, measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit; drill holes for wiring; pull wiring through opening; assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors; perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches. - Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced Journeyman Electricians. - Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner.

Education - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required.
Experience - Some industrial or commercial construction experience strongly preferred. Experience as an industrial or commercial electrician helper strongly preferred. Communication Skills - Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then be able to perform the task or project discussed.

Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to learn and develop basic knowledge of electricity.
