Job Description:
In the Nutrition Services Department we strive to live out our values every day in a fun, fast-paced (and often music-filled!) environment. We know that nutritious tasty meals, excellent service and nutrition education contribute to the healing and well-being of our patients and customers.

As a Cook your typical day will include preparing meats, vegetables, fruits, salads, soups, gravies, and/or baked goods in a safe and sanitary manner. You will learn about diet orders and make sure patients' meals match their dietary requirements. You will contribute to a food-safe environment by following HACCP protocols for cooling and storing foods, monitoring food temperatures, restocking supplies, and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen. The cook works collaboratively with other members of the Nutrition Services team to ensure that high quality, nutritious meals are prepared for patients, guests, catering and the cafeteria.

We provide you with several days of on-the-job training, ServSafe food sanitation and food allergens courses, and plenty of ongoing support as you learn the details of your new job. Interested employees may cross-train in other areas of the department when opportunities arise.

Shifts

Casual (less than 32 hours biweekly). Mainly day shifts from 5am-1:30pm, every third weekend and holiday. Weekdays as needed.
