OVERVIEW:
As an Associate Finance Manager in the Corporate Accounting group, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in initiatives to enable an optimal capital structure. You will partner with multiple internal and external teams to maintain external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements while continuing to build your financial acumen and people management skills. This role specifically supports corporate accounting and control matters related to treasury, stock compensation, corporate investments, and other equity transactions. You also will have the opportunity to contribute to broader Corporate Controllers' team initiatives including quarterly SEC filings.
This role offers many unique developmental opportunities, including:
Involvement in key enterprise initiatives to support an optimal capital structure in close partnership with the Treasury group
Support of the technical accounting and controls related to treasury activities (including financing and derivative instruments), stock compensation, corporate investments, and other equity transactions
Frequent exposure to leaders within Treasury, HR-Total Rewards, Corporate Finance, and Global Accounting Operations, among others
Building people management skills through day-to-day coaching of a direct report
Deepening accounting, control, and financial reporting technical expertise from both recurring and nonrecurring activities
Advancing process improvement in support of our continuous optimization of our global operating model to achieve best-in-class processes and results

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Significantly contribute to the North America & Corporate technical accounting and controls processes supporting treasury, financing, stock compensation, corporate investments, and other equity transactions.
Partner closely with Treasury business partners to support the technical accounting and reporting for various financing strategies and financial instruments, including derivatives.
Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close accounting and reporting processes including SEC filings and other external financial reporting.
Monitor and review results completed by outsourced partners and centers of excellence to ensure processes accurately meet Global Accounting Organization and business partner needs.
Contribute to and influence an evolving team structure by partnering with Corporate Accounting managers to ensure optimal team structure to support the highest priority business partner needs.
Drive process and governance excellence in our dynamic global accounting & controls environment.
Utilize SAP, HFM, SmartView, CDM, Blackline and other technologies to appropriately and effectively complete job responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA
B.S. in Accounting
5+ years relevant experience (public accounting, financial services, or other related accounting experience)
Aptitude for broad US GAAP subject matter including codification related to financial instruments, codification research and documentation experience
Detail-oriented, results-oriented, proactive
Well organized and able to manage and prioritize changing workload
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in Accounting
Financial services experience and/or Big Four public accounting firm experience
People management experience
Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion (HFM)
ADDITIONALCONSIDERATIONS:
We are open to 100% remote candidates with travel based on business needs.
International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $90100.00 - $135300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.
