- Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD are preferred.
- Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.

- Valid driver’s license and availability for overnight travel.

Consider joining our team with the following opportunity:

A Civil Engineer Intern with Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) will spend time in the field working on outdoor construction phase activities as well as a variety of in-office projects assisting engineers.

Job Description:

As an intern, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

- Assist with plan specifications and estimates as well as documenting construction activities.
- Assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and update redlines with various project set drawings.
- Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
- Perform work in a variety of software such as HEC-RAS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SWMM, ArcGIS, etc.
- Potential observation and data collection at different types of project sites.
- Assist with research, development and design of projects.

We strive to provide a personalized internship based on your area of interest. This may include learning how to do hydraulic and hydrology modeling or conducting reinforcement reviews for bridges.
