LEVEL II BULB/FLOWER PRODUCTION WORKER - Mount Vernon, WA
- Operates various specialized flower and flower bulb production equipment including bulb graders, cleaners, de-clustering machines, de-rooters, and electronic counters, other greenhouse equipment, tractors and forklifts, etc.
- Operate various specialized flower and flower bulb production lines.
- Operate small forklift, having passed forklift safety class. Operates greenhouse equipment including small tractors with implements such as a spader, roto-tillers, and cultivators.
- Operate other greenhouse equipment such as flower bulb planters, sawdust spreaders and diggers.
- Operate tractors and other machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest and spray fields and plants.
- Prepare for and assists in the planting, care of, and harvesting of greenhouse flower crops. Care includes irrigation, hand watering, installing crop supports, trimming, etc.
- Installation, Removal and repair of greenhouse equipment including roof coverings, inflator motors, poly lock, and other light duty maintenance.
- Must have a good working knowledge of tulip, daffodil, iris and lily bulbs and flowers.
- Must be able to quickly learn specific variety names and characteristics and changing seasonal habitats.
Must help ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment for the bulb and flower processing areas.

- Trabajará con varias flores y bulbos especializadas en líneas de producción.
- Manejar montacarga pequeña ya que haiga completado la clase de seguridad de montacarga. Trabajará con equipaje de invernaderos incluidos los pequeños tractores con implementos como in spader, roto-tillers, y de los agricultores.
- Operará equipo de invernaderos como plantadoras de bulbos,esparcidores de aserrín,y excavadoras.
- Operara tractores y otra maquinariay equipo para fertilizar, cultivar, los campos y las plantas de cosecha y pulverización.
- Prepárese para ayuda en la siembra, cuidado y cosecha de cultivos de flores de invernadero.El cuidado incluye riego,riego manual, la instalación de soportes de cultivo, poda, etc.
Instalación, desmontaje y reparación de equipos de invernadero incluyendo cubiertas de techo, motores inflador, y otra de mantenimiento de poca potencia.
- Debe tener un buen conocimiento de tulipán,narciso, lirio y bulbos de liriosy flores.
- Debe ser capaz de aprender rápidamentelos nombres y características de la variedades específicas y cambiantes hábitos estacional.
Debe ayudar a asegurar prácticas seguras de trabajoy mantener un ambientede trabajo seguro para las áreas de procesamiento de bulbos y flores.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- One (1) month of previous bulb experience
- Meet all the qualifications of the clearance order
- Be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work
- Employer willing to train
- Willing to work in extreme temperature
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
- Willing to make repetitive movements
- Extensive pushing and pulling
- Extensive walking and stooping
Must anticipate being available to work on the start date

HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE
Contract period: 02/05/2024 to 11/13/2024
Nine hours per day Monday through Friday
Normal work day is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with 30 min unpaid lunch break and two paid 15 min rest breaks
The workday may begin or end earlier or later on any given day. The employee will be instructed the previous day of any anticipated change in the starting time.
During the peak flower and bulb harvest, and during bulb planting, longer hours, up to 12-13 hours per day, may be required for a short period of time.
SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:
Employees will be paid on an hourly basis at a rate of $17.97 per hour for all hours worked.
Paid weekly on Fridays
The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies and personal protective equipment required in the performance of the specified work
Employer provided housing/kitchen facilities are available for employees who are unable to reasonably return to their place of residence the same day
The employer will offer transportation to and from the daily work site (from grower provided housing to the field and back) at no cost to the workers
Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent to ¾ or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work
Employer will furnish free cooking and kitchen facilities, including utensils. Employees will purchase and prepare their own meals.
