Job Description: |
Job Description: Our Staff Accountant isan integral team member of the Accounting Team, who performs operational accounting functions to ensure the accuracy of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results.
Book payroll for US, and Canada as well as taxes, bonuses and benefits.
Prepare journal entries and provide supporting documentation for assigned tasks during the close, such as recording accruals, payroll, cash activity, reclassifications and adjustments.
Prepare account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts. Ensure reconciling items are properly documented, resolved in a timely manner and adjustments are prepared.
Prepare fluctuation analysis for balance sheet accounts, identify trends and ascertain reasonableness according to business activities.
Understand transactional workflow, be knowledgeable about the source of data and ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with business partners, FP&A and Human Resources to effectively understand business activities.
Assist with analysis and research of variances or unusual trends.
Update process documentation for accounting processes assigned
Ensure compliance with all company accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Prepare audit schedules for independent auditors including the support documentation, as requested.
Prepare and record reclassification of On Account Cash from Account Receivables
Create Monthly Prepaid entries
Additional duties as assigned Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting Experience and Skills
Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Oracle R12 or ERP experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills
Customer focused attitude, can develop effective relationships with business partners
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Flexible work hours necessary to accommodate critical deadlines
Ability to Multi-Task and to switch gears as needed
