The successful candidate will conduct experiments involving human cancer biospecimens, including two- and three-dimensional (organoid) cell culture methods, drug screening and cell viability assays, as well as implement recombinant DNA and gene transfer technologies, molecular biology techniques and other biological assessments of pre-clinical models. The individual will also assist in daily laboratory operations and organization as well as be integrated with a robust infrastructure of specimens from clinical trial-based investigations. There will be supervision and mentoring but also the potential to independently lead projects as needed. In addition, the research assistant will collaborate with a diverse array of community members both at Dana-Farber and the Broad, including molecular biologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, epidemiologists, genomics specialists and computational scientists among others to advance and enrich her/his educational experience. There is potential for contributions to be published and presented in several forums.
The Research Technician role will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
