Missouri Valley Community School District is accepting applications for Elementary Teachers in our Pk-5 Elementary Building for the 24/25 school year. The General Education Classroom Teacher will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment and possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. The ideal candidate must also be able to work collaboratively with fellow staff members and contribute to a positive work environment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and educational objectives.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic growth, critical thinking, and student engagement.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to support student learning and achievement.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and classroom routines, and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to support student success and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary units, projects, and activities.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
- Use data to inform instructional decision-making and identify areas for growth and improvement.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and committees to support the overall mission and goals of the school.
- Model and promote positive attitudes, respect, and responsibility among students and staff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning.

- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
- Participate in appropriate professional activities.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.

- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license in the appropriate grade level and subject area.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
