Position Summary

The Department of Neurology at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time research assistant for clinical research on neuroinfectious diseases and neuroimmunology (acute meningitis/encephalitis, infectious and post-infectious myelitis, etc).


Responsibilities

  • The research assistant will be involved in both retrospective and prospective studies on neurological infectious diseases, and has an opportunity to be involved in international research projects if interested. 
  • Coordination of prospective clinical research studies, including patient recruitment, clinical database development, and daily review of medical charts in patients enrolled.
  • The successful applicant will also serve as a liason between the clinical research team, the microbiology laboratory, the Center for Infection and Immunity laboratory, and the clinical teams. The research assistant will also assist the team in retrospective data collection.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
