Job Description
Point72 Asset Management, L.P. has an opening for a Research Analyst in New York, NY. May work from home up to 1 day per week, as permitted.
Deconstruct and examine published accounting statements (Form 10Ks and 10Qs) for subject companies in the technology sector. Prepare and maintain forecasts of a company’s operations and future accounting statements through financial models. Prepare comprehensive written reports on subject companies that highlight key strengths of a business and the outlook for growth, on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis. Meet with management teams of subject companies to better understand the business operations, and strategic direction of the company. Develop relationships with industry contacts for channel checks on subject companies to assess the accuracy of estimates, and management commentary. Develop trading systems using object-oriented programming.
Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Economics, Finance, or a related field and at least 1 year of experience as a financial analyst or in a related role. Must also possess the following: at least 1 year of experience with Excel; at least 1 year of experience with investing in cyclical industries; at least 1 year of experience with financial modeling; at least 1 year of experience with corporate finance; demonstrable experience working with sell side research analysts; demonstrable experience working with an internal compliance team; and completion of a competitive internship/training program at an elite financial firm.
