DCCA is a growing and dynamic company serving as the large prime on a very successful contract, and we are searching for a highly skilled System Engineer 1 (SE1) to be a part of our team. We are looking for someone with strong telecommunications and signals analysis background.  You will be working with a large team of highly qualified, skilled and motivated professionals, designing, implementing and testing solutions to address challenges in an evolving landscape. The ideal candidate would meet all requirements and possess one or more of the items in the list of desired knowledge and experience.

 

DCCA is the prime contractor for this Government program that delivers important technical solutions and products using emerging technologies for high-speed SIGINT processing systems. The program is tactically important to the National Security of the United States and the work on these missions are frequently recognized for their results. Required Years Experience/Education

Ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Administrator and a bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience on projects of similar scope and size (supporting five or more users, Linux operating systems, software development environment preferred, and including support for desktops, servers and VMs), may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience

·        Strong Linux skills

·        Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems and related software

·        Familiarity building Docker containers and containerization practices

·        Experience with or knowledge of Ansible and Puppet

·        Experience writing and modifying scripts (bash, perl, python, etc.) to accomplish SA functions

·        Installation and maintenance of Linux (RHEL) systems using RPMs

·        Integration, optimization, and testing of VMWare and network configurations

·        Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, IP, netmasks, gateways, routers, CISCO switches, and network card installations

·        Support to hardware integration efforts for an engineering team

·        Experience with system hardening, server, and network security

·        Demonstrated ability preparing and editing technical documentation

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment

·        Willingness to learn and take direction


Desired Skills and Certifications:

·        Familiarity with STE/STN implementation and compliance

·        Experience migrating from Puppet to Ansible

·        Experience migrating systems from Centos to RHEL (preferable RHEL9) OS.

·        Testing of various hardware configurations and OS settings on servers

·        Experience working supporting a software development team using Agile/DevOps processes

·        Experience supporting projects using Docker and Kubernetes

·        DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT I) (A+ CE, Network + CE, CND, SSCP or CCNA-Security)

·        Other DoD 8570 certification: Security + CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CCNP-Security, CASP+ CE, CISSP, CISSA, CCSP, CISA, GCED, GCIH

 

Work Environment:
This team works in government spaces and interacts frequently with our government customers to understand their requirements, schedules and priorities.  We are a medium sized development team (twenty-one people) composed of software engineers (SWEs), systems engineers (SEs), systems administrators (SAs), front-line engineers (FLEs), and information system security officers (ISSOs).  Our team supports maintenance of deployed, mission software, development of enhancements and updates, as well as support to a large range of end-users. 

 

You will support maintenance of the development environment for the team and will work directly with our ISSOs to ensure that our environment remains compliant with all security directives (including IAVAs, IAVMs, and STE/STN playbooks). As part of the team, you will be aware of team activities, schedules, and priorities, and will play a part in helping us to achieve our goals.

 

The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 165,000 to 230,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
