<strong>Position summary</strong>
<br>
<br>The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the design, debugging and assembly of new production tooling and equipment according to the organizational standards.<br>
<br>
<strong>Essential Job Functions </strong> <ul> <li>Subject matter expert in the design, assembly and debugging of new production tooling and equipment</li> <li>Optimize current production tooling and equipment.</li> <li>Develop and implement equipment and tooling design and organization standards.</li> <li>Estimate production costs, efficiencies, cost saving methods, and the effects of tooling/equipment design changes on cost and efficiency.</li> <li>Document current installed tooling and equipment base</li> <li>Support and comply with Spectralytics Quality System, ISO 13485 and when required medical device requirements.</li> <li>Monitor the utilization of employee safety and OE programs</li> <li>Support and comply with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements</li> <li>Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work</li> <li>Partner with the other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance</li> <li>Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve</li> <li>Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly</li> <li>Participate in required company meetings </li> <li>Maintain an organized work area (5S)</li> <li>Participate in the Operational Excellence Program </li> <li>Complete all other work duties as assigned</li> <li>Ability to work in a manufacturing environment</li></ul>

<strong>Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience </strong>
<br>
<ul> <li>2-year Design related degree </li> <li>Experience: 3 years</li> <li>Working knowledge of mechanical parts as well as computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks</li> <li>CNC programming knowledge a plus</li> <li>Able to work mechanically and troubleshoot equipment</li> <li> </li> <li>Ability to consistently achieve short and long term business results</li> <li>Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable </li> <li>Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)</li> <li>Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills </li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Organizational skills </li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and multitask</li></ul>
