About the Job



Position Overview
This position will aid the School of Kinesiology by providing research support that focuses on sports performance. Specific to the projects expected to completed, the applicant will conduct and manage exercise testing for external sales clients, and assist in scheduling and managing testing in the lab for research and teaching purposes. This person will be responsible for conducting physiological testing on human study participants and individuals seeking fee-for-service testing.
Job Responsibilities
Exercise testing (70%)
Conduct exercise testing, including VO2max, lactate, resting metabolic rate, and underwater weighing for body composition
Communicate results effectively to participants
Schedule and run fee-for-service testing for the lab
Laboratory Management (30%)
Assist with general direction of the laboratory
Organize laboratory activities (meetings, journal clubs, etc.) as needed
Assist with the lab web site
Collect and deposit testing fees, working with department administrators
Monitor and order testing supplies

Qualifications



Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Background in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field
Ability to work as a member of a team
Experience conducting exercise testing in a laboratory setting
Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong orientation to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience with exercise testing and prescription for a wide range of people
Experience as research assistant
Experience in publishing in peer reviewed journals
Experience in sport science research
