SUBSTITUTE SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PARAPROFESSIONAL

General Purpose of Job: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. In the absence of the classroom educational support professional (ESP), the substitute ESP supports the classroom teacher in instruction, encouraging student progress, and managing the learning environment.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Filling in for absent regular ESP to assist special education teachers and students in the classroom.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:


Assist in the implementation of the students' special education instructional plan(s) including physical and behavioral management. This may include feeding, toileting, and diapering students, based on students' special needs.
Assist in the implementation and follow-through of the students' individual plans in all settings in which the program is delivered and as assigned by the supervising teacher.
Assist in the preparation, collection and maintenance of educational materials and equipment.
Complete educational forms, reports and other student related data relevant to the individual student(s) in the special education program as directed by the special education teacher.
Any other duties deemed necessary by the team and approved by the Special Education Coordinator or Special Education Supervisor.


Salary: $19.43/hr
