Job Description
Syracuse University invites applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor of Sport Analytics in the Department of Sport Management.

Teaching expectations include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses and helping with student research projects. The faculty member is expected to conduct an active program of research. Service to the school, college, university, and the profession is also expected. The Department of Sport Management is housed in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. The Sport Analytics degree is an academically rigorous, business-based 126-credit hour curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science degree, the first of its kind in the nation. It prepares students for immediate entry into the sport analytics industry directly with teams and leagues, in the daily fantasy and gambling industry, sponsorship and marketing analytics, etc., or graduate school. Qualifications
An earned doctorate in data science, analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, sport management, or a related terminal degree is required.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required skills include proficiency in modeling of relationships with sports data. A demonstrated excellence in research and teaching is necessary for the position, along with a strong background and knowledge of the sports industry. We are specifically searching for candidates with a strong interest in some combination of statistical modeling, machine learning, automation, data mining, data visualization, and similar skills. Demonstrated or potential success in securing research funding from the federal government, corporate partners, and foundations.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include but are not limited to, undergraduate and graduate instruction in the Sport Analytics degree programs, publishing individual and corroborative research important to the field, overseeing and helping with undergraduate and graduate research, and effectively handling other responsibilities associated with being a tenured faculty member.

The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with other academic units and departments across the College, campus, and the local, regional, and national sport industry.
