| Job Description: |
We are hiring a Field Scientist in our Bloomington, MN location. As a Field Scientist, the role may include field oversight and documentation, sample collection, data logging, remediation oversight and reporting.<br>
<br>
<b>Responsibilities</b>
<br>
<ul>
<li>Perform asbestos-containing materials, lead paint, and other miscellaneous hazardous materials inspection.</li>
<li>Perform Environmental Site Assessments and conduct building material sampling</li>
<li>Oversee asbestos, lead, and other remediation efforts and coordinate monitoring and testing services to attain regulatory compliance </li>
<li>Conduct screening of soil and groundwater for various environmental impacts</li>
<li>Demonstrate understanding of construction-related activities and associated safe-work practices</li>
<li>Document test results and reviews test data for accuracy and completeness</li>
<li>Assist with data collection and report preparation</li>
<li>Work with project manager and client to ensure project objectives are met</li>
<li>Travel to local and regional project sites</li>
<li>Assist senior staff with various environmental regulatory matters for clients</li>
<li>Assist regional environmental staff as needed to manage team workload</li></ul>

<b>Education/Experience</b>

<b>Required </b>
<br>
<ul>
<li>Associate's degree in engineering, geology, environmental studies; or related degree. 2 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry or related filed may count for the Associate's degree.</li>
<li>0 to 1 years of experience in environmental consulting industry.</li>
<li>Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. </li>
<li>Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving history and be willing to use personal vehicle on company projects as required.</li>
<li>Must be available to travel up to 20%</li></ul>
<br>
<b>Preferred </b>
<br>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental studies; or related degree.</li>
<li>Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Asbestos Inspector preferred.</li>
<li>MDH Asbestos Site Supervisor preferred.</li>
<li>MDH Asbestos Air Sampling preferred.</li>
<li>NIOSH 582 equivalency course preferred.</li>
<li>MDH Lead Risk Assessor preferred.</li>
<li>OSHA HAZWOPER preferred.</li>
<li>Experience w/field data collection, investigation, and remediation oversight preferred.</li></ul>
