Professional Business Tutor
 
The Professional Business Tutor will meet with students to provide tutoring services specific to Business coursework, including Economics & Accounting courses, on the West Burlington Campus, under the supervision of the Learning Resources Coordinator.

            

Job Description:

  • Tutoring Service hours are from 9-3 Monday-Friday
  • Pay rate is $16 per hour. These positions are part-time hourly positions, & are not eligible for SCC benefits.
  • Tutoring sessions can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Sessions should be able to accommodate 2 students if coursework is similar in material. 
 












Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  •  Associate’s Degree with sufficient collegiate Business coursework & ability to assist students with courses such as: Micro & Macro Economics, Financial & Managerial Accounting, Principles of Accounting, Intro to Computers & other Business coursework. 

  • Excellent customer service skills required. 


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting 
  • Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to, & an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, &/or disabled backgrounds of community college students
  • Experience working in a Tutoring Center
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Base-level technology knowledge 
 

A copy of unofficial transcripts must be sent as well.
