Requisition Summary
This materials laboratory internship will support vehicle and engine products under the direction of materials engineers. There will be opportunity to work in metals, plastics, composites, and/or coatings.

Division Information
The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. We are located in beautiful Mt. Vernon, WA.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Completion of basic materials tests including hardness, tensile strength, and chemical analysis
Develop test fixtures, comply with industry standards, and document test results
Sample preparation and participate in failure analysis
Qualifications:
Working towards a bachelor of science in engineering, materials science, or chemistry
Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Coursework focused on polymers or metallurgy is desirable
The following abilities or tolerances are required:
Lift and carry at least 50 pounds
Push and pull at least 125 pounds
Repetitive bending, stooping and kneeling
Frequent work at or above shoulder level
Good manual dexterity
Ability to use vibratory tools
Ability to work with or around solvents, degreasing agents, greases, oils paints and solder with proper safety equipment
Work in areas of high temperature and humidity
Work with vehicle fluids
Work in areas of high noise with hearing protection
Tolerate eye, hearing, and foot protection
Good vision/depth perception with or without corrective lenses
Work around electronic equipment

Salary: Undergraduate Students: $25.00/hour, Graduate Students: $30.00/hour
