Position Overview

This position offers the opportunity to manage development and QA teams for a market leading and rapidly growing SaaS application. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate, interact with and influence all levels of management. The individual in this role will lead, motivate, challenge, and support development teams to maximize velocity and quality and deliver world-class products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership, vision, direction to the development organization while ensuring business objectives and client expectations are met.
• Provide direction of technical, architectural and design efforts
• Successful execution in this role is incumbent upon delivery of high quality software products and ongoing alignment with business objectives.
• Drive efficiencies in the development team through the use of tools, processes, and effective resource management.
• Manage delivery of multiple and concurrent product releases

Required Experience:

• Experience managing development teams in an Agile environment
• Strong technical knowledge. Experience in building and supporting mission critical n-tier, distributed, and fault-tolerant SaaS applications.
• Experience with Agile processes (specifically Scrum) is required
• Personal management skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize based on competing demands.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with and influence all levels of the business as well as clients, partners, and prospects.
• Demonstrated ability in all aspects of hiring - creating staffing plans, writing job descriptions, attracting talent, making and retaining great hires
• Exceptional management and people skills, ability to manage personnel activities of staff
• Passion for quality and continuous improvement of processes and software, well versed with software engineering practices (e.g. Continuous Engineering, Build/Deploy, Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Test & Staging Environments)

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of Object Oriented, Data-Driven Software Application Development experience required
• Minimum 5 years of Software Development management experience required
• Specific knowledge of J2EE applications and open source technologies
• Knowledge of Grails/Groovy preferred
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 preferred
• Solid JavaScript experience (AJAX, DHTML, and jQuery) required, knowledge of frameworks such as Angular, Backbone preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
