The candidate will collect microscope spectroscopy data on 2D materials and develop and test a software package in python for automated identification of phases of matter from hyperspectral data..

Job Description

The employee in this position will work 20 hours/ week.

Job Duties
This position will be responsible for the following duties.
This position will be working in the McLeod collecting spectroscopy data with a near-field optical microscope, writing a software package for hyperspectral data analysis, and using the software to analyze collected data and benchmark the software performance. 30% Software design, 30% Data collection, 30% Data analysis, and 10% Communication of research results. Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications
BA or BS in Physics

Preferred Requirements:
Candidate must have proficiency in LabView programming, data analysis in python, and computer-aided design software for design of machined components. Candidate should have familiar with laser optics and photodetection.
