Job Description Summary
This role is designed to interpret the customer’s technical enquiry and to design the most cost-effective overall solution for an HVDC installation utilizing the PES power electronics solutions, aiming to minimizing the total cost, and to specify the main (high-value) items of bought-out equipment for HVDC Projects.The candidate shall execute with association of workgroups, where applicable, in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
The current role is expected to deliver ITO/OTR for HVDC&AC Grid projects. Strong fundamental competency on projects on HVDC,EHV/HV Designs of Grid substation (AIS & GIS) is pre-requisite.
The successful candidate will be part of an established team of experienced power systems engineer which will provide them with various opportunities to develop their skills in the field of high voltage AC and DC power system design via mentoring by Systems Expert
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- HV (Primary) designs up to 500 kV GIS/AIS & HVDC Converter Substation Engineering for Grid Interconnected Renewable Energy Projects
- Preparation of basic Single Line Diagram, Layout Plan & Section of Overall plant, Equipment control room building, Earthing Layout, DSLP Layout, Trench Layout etc.
- Earthing design, Lightning design, Cable Sizing, Illumination system design, Sag Tension calculation, Short Circuit Force and Bus- bar Sizing as per IEEE/IEC.
- Calculation of Load, Battery sizing etc.
- Preparation of all Distribution/Auxiliary system.
- Evaluation of vendor Drawings, GTP, Calculation & Technical Specs
- ITO (tender) drawings, BOQ estimation, RFQ finalization & evaluation of various components, selection of equipment with best pricing options.
- Coordination and integration with Automation, Civil & MEP.
- Coordination of site & office team for execution of project
- Performing studies; deliver study reports.
- Produce Specifications for HV equipment.
- Witness Equipment Testing
- Customer facing responsibilities.
- Adherence to company policies and Code of Conduct.
- Knowhow of IEEE / IEC codes, safety in design/EHS aspects, AC substation industry engineering practices.
- Health and Safety: consider Health and Safety preventions, risks, behaviors. Attend EHS training.
- Renewable project engineering i.e. Solar, on-shore / off-shore Wind, Battery Storage or hybrid
- Competency on specialized tools like CANECO, ETAP, Dialux, CDGES or equivalent tools
- Experience in HVDC/FACTS integrated project applications, 3D BIM/Revit
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or relevant educational background
- Fluency in English is must and other languages are nice to have
- Minimum 5 years of experience with design, studies, specifications, estimating, and construction experience in HV substation, transmission, or power generation projects for the power generation/distribution/transmission industry.
- Minimum 3 year of technical proposal HV primary part and writing and proposal management experience.
- Experience with project risk management, financial processes, and global tendering requirements.
- Familiar with project technical management processes, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team’s context with multiple interfaces
- First experience in managing subcontracted design work package (preferably externally)
- Strong interpersonal skills, willingness to travel globally and eager to work in diverse environments.

- Flexible and quick to learn global developments in renewable technologies and adopt.
- Good Communication skills & capability to lead project independently along with Client handling.
- Team handling & development.
